**If you have applied between October 29, 2020 and August 16, 2021, you do not need to re-apply to be considered for this position.The Military Police Complaints Commission (MPCC) is a federal quasi-judicial body, established by the Parliament of Canada under the National Defence Act. Independent from the Department of National Defence and the Canadian Armed Forces, it was created to review and investigate complaints concerning the Military Police with objectivity and fairness. The mandate of the MPCC is to monitor and investigate conduct complaints against the Military Police in the performance of their policing duties and functions and, to investigate interference complaints from the Military Police against members of the Canadian Armed Forces and senior officials of the Department of National Defence. The MPCC may call a public interest hearing into a complaint, wherein, it may exercise legislative authority to compel, subpoena, and summon witnesses to appear and testify before the MPCC in a public forum.The Chairperson is the Chief Executive Officer of the MPCC responsible for its effective operation and has supervision over the direction of the work and staff of the Commission.
