The Hamilton-Oshawa Port Authority is a Canadian Port Authority, established under the Canada Marine Act and Letters Patent. Its mandate is to manage the marine infrastructure and services in a commercial manner that encourages, and takes into account, input from users and the community in which the Port Authority is located.The Board of Directors (Board) is responsible for the governance of the Hamilton-Oshawa Port Authority. It provides strategic leadership to the Port Authority in the establishment of and commitment to its vision, mission and core values and in realizing its mandate. In addition, the Board develops and reviews the mission, goals, objective and strategic plan of the Port Authority; establishes procedures for monitoring compliance with the requirements of the Canada Marine Act, Letters Patent and all applicable regulation and legislation; it establishes policies and procedures to provide the framework for the management and operation of the Port Authority; and appoints the President and Chief Executive Officer and ensure the ongoing annual evaluation of the President and Chief Executive Officer.
